Why You Should Go See Them: Simply put, A Lull doesn’t sound like any other band in Chicago right now. Or anywhere else, for that matter. The group specializes in hectic and eclectic electronic sounds marked by unconventional percussion that come across surprisingly accessible and infectious, apparent in the swirling and stuttering “Weapons For War.” A Lull remains one of Chicago’s better kept indie rock secrets, but the outfit’s forthcoming record Confetti (video preview below) could change that, sure to find a home with adventurous listeners. As a festival, SXSW is ideal for discovering hidden talent on the way up. A Lull embodies that definition, with an emphasis on the word “talent.”
