For this month’s ChicagoVerseUniteD cover story, every day in January will preview a different local artist’s plans for 2011. Today: Pink Frost!
It wasn’t that long ago that ChicagoVerseUniteD first reported on the shimmering sounds of mellow shozegaze-tinged act Pink Frost in November of last year. Yet according to the band’s Adam Lukas (also known from Chicago’s bombastic Apteka), the group is turning its attention towards studio time in 2011. Though the unit remains unsure as to whether they’re aiming for one full length record or multiple EPs, the outfit’s Mark Frost is more certain as to what the group’s next works will sound like. ”When I think of the future sound of Pink Frost I imagine chewing on a piece of psychedelic bubble gum, or going sledding for the first time as a kid,” the musician informs CVU via email. “While still hanging on to the shimmery guitars and catchy vocal melodies, we have a lot more to work with this time around. One of the fun parts about being a new band is that you can go anywhere you want with it, because no one really expects anything yet. I feel that we’ve come a long way with our song writing, and am super excited to hear what comes out of our future recordings.”
