For this month’s ChicagoVerseUniteD cover story, every day in January will preview a different local artist’s plans for 2011. Today: The Streets On Fire!
Following an end of the year performance as part of the Akira New Years Eve event, fuzzed out Chicago garage rockers The Streets On Fire are looking ahead towards the follow up to its 2010 full length, This is Fancy. The band is aiming to begin recording sometime in the next two months, with the effort set to drop in late spring. Speaking of the process, band frontman Chadwick issued the following statement to CVU. ”We’re jumping back in the studio soon for our 3rd release in less than two years later this spring. This band is the sound story of four strangers that have ‘Party’ in common. It’s a dance to the finish with no whining. Bring your roller skates 2011 is going to be quite a ride.”
Those looking to experience the ride for themselves can check out The Streets On Fire live this coming Friday, January 14th at the Double Door.
