Black Light Saints

The days may be shorter and snow might be starting to fall, but that’s no reason to stay inside. Especially not with a bill and price point like tonight’s Do312 and Vitamin Water Winter Escape event. Free with RSVP through the Do312 page, the shindig goes down tonight, Friday, December 2nd, at the Hard Rock Hotel, and features hometown talent like glam-garage outfit Smith Westerns and post-punkers Black Light Saints (above). According to the group’s recent Do312 interview, Black Light Saints are looking towards a remix album and studio time in 2012, aiming for either an EP or LP, depending on consensus on the material. Smith Westerns, meanwhile, will return to recording in 2012, following a final run of dates behind this year’s Dye It Blonde, including a headlining appearance February 3rd at Metro. Become better acquainted with Black Light Saints via the 2010 CVU podcast interview with the group’s Britton Wetherald followed by BLS cut “Could Care Less.” And get in the mood for Smith Westerns with the Peaking Lights treatment of the band’s track “End of the Night,” followed by the video for Blonde cut “Weekend.”
