Kids These Days Appear In Performance, Interview Clips From Festivals And More

Given the act’s prolific video output and live performance schedule this year, one has to wonder when the members of Kids These Days find time to sleep. Keeping in line with the group’s high profile summer is the announcement that the young outfit will perform as one of many local bands at The Hideout Block Party next month on September 24th. The band just last week played a set at a different type of local event, The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival. Bucketfeet and Young Wonder both provide a look at the fest, immediately following the group’s recent CVU Lollapalooza podcast.

And speaking of Lollapalooza, KTD materials from that event continue to surface, with the group’s FM News 101.1 interview with journalist Janine Schaults directly below, followed by a look at the act’s post-Lolla Hard Rock Cafe performance.
Next, and much like Hey Champ, the group is featured on two installments of MGTV, which stands for Music Garage TV. Watch both chapters in that video series below.
Finally, last and certainly not least, is impressive live video of the group’s Macie Stewart mere days ago at The Bucktown Arts Festival, courtesy of Elephilms.
Hey Champ Featured In Music Garage TV Web Series

CVU regulars Hey Champ are the focus of an early episode of the MGTV web series, which stands for Music Garage TV and features a look at artists who record and rehearse within the facility. Music Garage of course was recently announced as the new recording residency of Dynasty Podcasts. The clip finds the trio rehearsing their track “Cold Dust Girl” with a series of separate interview segments. Watch the first entry in Hey Champ’s MGTV series below, and catch the group live this Saturday, September 3rd at Cobra Lounge for a North Coast Music Festival after-party.

This week on the extra sized 100th episode of the ChicagoVerseUniteD audio podcast: Chris Payne! In an interview recorded at Chicago’s Music Garage, the new home of the Dynasty Podcast network, the former Local 101 host looks back at his career in radio, how he got his start in the industry, and what brought him to Chicago. Payne also reflects on his ten year run as host of the late great Q101′s Local 101, being on air last month to close down the station’s two decade run, and whether Q101′s last broadcast was really his last, as well. Find that podcast below, following video from the interview, in which Payne recalls shrugging off Disturbed‘s David Drainman during the band’s early days.

100th CVU Podcast W/ Special Guest Chris Payne Drops This Week!

Dynasty Podcasts, Chicago’s first music podcast network, is celebrating its six year anniversary at the end of this month by partnering with The Music Garage, Chicago’s professional music rehearsal space! The partnership will find Chicago music journalist and Dynasty Podcasts host Jaime Black recording Dynasty Podcasts episodes at The Music Garage through 2011 and into 2012! In 2009, Black launched the ChicagoVerseUniteD podcast series, which features interviews with the premier talent and tastemakers in the Chicago music community.
Dynasty Podcasts will celebrate its six year anniversary at the end of this month at Jaime Black’s residency, The Streets Are Hot Tonight, Pilsen’s only monthly indie party.
