Leading social sound platform SoundCloud is holding its Global Meetup Day internationally on May 17th, and CVU and Dynasty Podcasts are proud to present the Chicago edition of the event! The Chicago SoundCloud Global Meetup Day event will happen May 17th at Music Garage (345 N. Loomis), and is free to attend. The SoundCloud meetup will take place in room 515 of the Music Garage from 7 to 9PM. The event will give Chicago creatives who are passionate about sound, either on a personal or professional level, the chance to connect with other sound creators. The free event is open to, but not limited to:
- Spoken word artists
- Found sound enthuasiasts
- And anyone else interested in sound, SoundCloud, and connecting with the Chicago sound community!
The event will provide attendees the opportunity to record and share their sounds (music, spoken word, found, etc.), and upload them to SoundCloud on the spot by bringing their laptops or smart phones. The event will also serve as an introduction to SoundCloud for novices or a chance for more advanced users to find out about SoundCloud Labs, SoundCloud Apps, services like Story Wheel, and more! International sound platform SoundCloud is bringing its SoundCloud Heroes program to Chicago, with this site’s Jaime Black as the city’s representative. The initiative will bring SoundCloud-related events, campaigns, and activities to Chicago. More information is below.
- SoundCloud Heroes events in Chicago will focus on bringing together the city’s creative community, uniting around exploration and execution of the sound arts
- Musicians, singers, DJs, rappers, podcasters, poets, spoken word artists, found sound enthusiasts, and other sound creators are encouraged to participate
- Events will include focus on SoundCloud use, applications, hacks, and more, drawing from resources like SoundCloud Apps, SoundCloud Labs, and more
